Foot Tree Carving - Ottawa, Ontario
A tree that morphs into a human foot. This Indiana Limestone carving stands up on its own foot, or on the tree end.
The piece was carved for the Canadian Stone Carving Festival 2012 in Ottawa. This two day carving festival is modelled after many European carving festivals, where carvers are given a piece of stone and a weekend to carve anything they wish using hand tools. All carvings completed within the two days are auctioned off, with proceeds going to a charity. In 2012 proceeds went to the Ottawa Inner City Ministries street youth program.
